Twilight Is Here!

Posted by -edz- on 12:14 AM in , ,
Here's something everyone's (almost if not everyone) been waiting for. The latest Twilight trailer. Now if you don't know anything about the Twilight series I suggest that you go and get a life. Haha! I'm just kidding! If you know nothing about it then what are you waiting for? Go and play the trailer to know what's the biggest book series since Harry Potter!

Seriously! I can't wait for this film to be out! As most of you know, the original play date isn't until the second week of December. But luckily, the newest Harry Potter film was moved to summer of next year so Twilight right away filled in the vacant spot. So this Thanksgiving, here's something to look forward to and be thankful about.

And I have a feeling it's going to be crazy!!!!!!

A dear friend of mine has been very busy the past couple of weeks (even months) preparing for a theatrical event. She, and her crew, spent so much effort (not to mention time and money) on this project so I’m very sure it will come out as a successful event. Unfortunately, I will not be physically there to watch the event and congratulate her and her team for a wonderful job done. So instead I am going to post a picture (or copy of the banner) of the said event. To the people of Cagayan de Oro City, I hope you will take time to watch their wonderful show.

And to my friend, I’m sure as the play dates draw closer the more the pressure and the anxiety your feeling. But don’t worry, cause as your efforts will soon be paid off. You are one great artist and I believe in you. So God bless and good luck to your crew and break a leg! (Not literally okay?!) Just enjoy and have fun. The goal doesn’t really matter much compared to the journey. Don’t worry for the curtains will close after every performance.

The Dark Knight

Posted by -edz- on 10:23 PM in ,
There were a couple of great movies out last week so guess what I did? Went to the movies of course! And what movie set the record last weekend? Of course! There’s no other than – “The Dark Knight.” This movie created a big buzz months before it was released, I guess one obvious reason is the death of Heath Ledger who is playing the notorious Joker.

What can I say about the movie? Well, it was fantastic! (Either that or I just have a really poor taste when it comes to movies.) Why did I say that? Well, a lot of new aspects were added that helped make more sense out of the film and the Batman story as well. Each background music were set at exactly the right timing to prepare the audience and squeeze from them the right emotions needed to fully immerse themselves in the film. I think the plot was very well planned. One would think that the story ends as soon as the villain was captured but no. Every scene was something to look forward to. You really have to hold your breath until the end of the film. The visual effect was amazing too. Technology has indeed created a new and exciting world. All the actors did an amazing job in their acting as well. (No wonder there is a big buzz of Heath Ledger possibly winning an Oscars for his acting in the said film.) There are a lot of other good things in the movie but you just have to find it out for yourself. A number of memorable mind boggling lines are worth figuring out. Just remember that the film is literally not based on the concepts of DC comics. It is more than that. There are a couple of underlying themes that you have to uncover for yourself.

Some critics said this batman movie is quite a dark film. Perhaps it is. But one thing's for sure - “The Dark Knight” is a great and interesting film that is worth the watch.

Oh by the way, Christian Bale is pretty hot for a Batman who's claustrophobic.

George Clooney is MY Celebrity Soulmate

Posted by -edz- on 2:01 AM in , , , ,
So my sister showed me this little online celebrity soulmate test a few weeks ago but I wasn't able to find time to post it here until now. I did the test quite a few times and kept getting George Clooney as my "celebrity soulmate." I think it's cool since we all know he's a fabulous actor and a consistent contender for the world's sexiest man title. Plus, he's heck of a funny guy and he loves his parents. *lol* I wish to meet him someday though. Perhaps after I see him personally I'll fall in love with him even more. Hahaha.

Anyways, the test is really short and fun to do. It's a nice way to spend a break from once busy world. So, I hope you guys try it and let me know which celebrity is your soulmate. (There is a separate test for females and males)

The Wizard's Search for Mystery Girl

Posted by -edz- on 9:52 AM in , , ,
Every girl wishes to have a fairytale love story (except me). They would want a prince charming to save them from the dungeon and sweep them off their feet. That explains why movies such as Nothing Hill and Pretty Woman topped the box office charts when released. (Almost) Every average-simple girl probably dreams to have a rich-famous-handsome guy fall in love with her and search for her. Although most people say, these stories only happen in books and movies.

Uhhmmm. You might think that’s impossible to happen nowadays huh? But think again. There are still some people out there with pure hearts and with so much sincere love to give. Would you believe me if I tell you the famous Daniel Radcliffe is one of those very rare men? Yes, Daniel Radcliffe as in Daniel Radcliffe from one of the most successful book series ever turned to blockbuster movies.

The famous young actor revealed he was bewitched by an Australian woman sometime late last year during an AFI awards night. He shared in his interview with The Daily Telegraph:
"There was one girl there, oh my god, she had these eyes that just looked at me like she wanted to pounce on me. She stared at me the whole night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn't find her.”

"I must have walked around that party for an hour trying to look for this girl, like some sad pathetic dweeb but it would have been so worth it."

"I don't know, I don't know her name, I can't remember her name. It was one of those things but she was stunning," he said.

The actor shared he has troubles finding the right woman and is cautious of “gold diggers” who would only be after his fame and fortune.

Now the newspaper – The Daily Telegraph – is helping search for Radcliffe’s mysterious Aussie-girl. And the whole world awaits.

Edz React:
Uhhmmm.. What did I tell you? Probably in our modern times there are still men with hearts like the nobles princes from movies. But I guess it’s still too soon to tell. I know this search will not last long. It will end any time soon and everyone will be talking about it. So far, while I’m writing this blog entry, they still have not found the girl. But I will update you guys with the latest. I’ll research it for you. So keep watch. Lets see how far this story will go.

80th Annual Academy Awards - The Oscar Winners

Posted by -edz- on 3:29 AM in , , ,
We all know what happened a few hours ago right? It was the 80th Annual Academy Awards. At this point the attention no longer focuses on how the stars looked at the Red Carpet, although, we know that interest will not subside any time soon. What everyone is interested to know now is whether their bet won or not. So here it is, the 80th Annual Academy Awards Winners

Best film: No Country for Old Men

Best director: No Country for Old Men, Joel and Ethan Coen

So that was it. Unfortunately, neither of people's favorites - George Clooney and Johnny Depp - took home the Best Actor award this year. Im definitely sure, though, everyone would agree Daniel Day-Lewis deserves the award. The outstanding "No Country For Old Men" took home the Best Film award. The movie was indeed a remarkable work by the Coen brothers who also won Best Director. Other than those two, Javier Bardem was crowned Best Supporting Actor for his act on the same film.

It was also a memorable night for stripper-turned-screenwriter Diablo Cody. Not only did she catch everyone's attention with her very expressive Red Carpet look but her work "Juno" won Best Original Screenplay as well. "Bourne Ultimatum" swept all awards on the three categories in which it was nominated.

So that was pretty much it - this year's Oscar Awards. The writers just had to settle matters concerning their strike so as not to miss this big event. Oh by the way, just so you know the star studded ceremony officially ended at past 1 in the morning. But I'm definitely sure, all the preparations the celebrities went through were worth it.

What a glamorous night.

Got to Believe in 27 Dresses

Posted by -edz- on 10:58 PM in ,
Okay! Save tomorrow's date!!! And why?! Because tomorrow is the official release of the movie "27 Dresses" starring Katherine Heigl, from everyone's favorite "Grey's Anatomy," and James Marsden, from the hit movie "Enchanted".

Now let me give you a brief idea about this movie. Katherine Heigl plays the role of Jane who is a happy single who has been a bridesmaid to already 27 weddings. Well, she was not only the bridesmaid but she helped organized the weddings as well. Now this 27 is about to become 28 as her younger sister suddenly becomes engaged to her boss whom she is secretly deeply in love with. Now will she hold true the statement "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride?" Well that's for the rest of us to find out tomorrow.

To watch the movie trailer just click on the link: http://www.27dressesthemovie.com/

But wait. "27 Dresses" actually reminds me of a Filipino movie entitled "Got to Believe". They have basically the same concept. I just love ""Got to Believe". Everything in it was so perfect. The script, the music, the setting, the actors, and just about all of it. The movie was starred by Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan who were also real life partners at that time. Toni (Claudine) was a fantastic wedding planner who was always a bridesmaid at her friends' weddings. Lorenz (Rico), on the other hand, was a talented photographer who was always hired to cover weddings. Toni always believed in happy endings and dreamt of someday finding her "Prince in shining armor". While Lorenz fears marriage and commitments and enjoys his bachelorhood. Both, who were former college schoolmates and nemesis, always had their paths crossed because of their professions. In their dreams of being successful in each of their fields they were forced to work with each other. And in the process they fell in love with each other as they fought their fears and learn the magic that love brings. In their partnership Toni found her perfect wedding and Lorenz discovered the perfect picture.

Oh by the way, let me just clarify some things. Prior to this post was an entry about baby names and this one is about love and marriage. That does not mean I want to get married and have a baby any time soon. No no no way!!! Marriage has not even crossed my mind and probably not in the next 10 years. But anyway, save tomorrow's date and enjoy the movie with whoever it is you are going with. Have fun!
